Simple Ways to raise your vibration
I’m sitting in one my of favorite Chicago coffee shops writing this blog post on a whim. As my mother takes care of my two children so I can take a break, I used this time to zone into how I can truly raise my vibration or “frequency” in order to feel more joy and clarity in my life.
Lately I have felt over-worked and fog brained, but I know this state of my body is not finite. So I am tapping into my past to understand methods I have used to create more inner harmony. When I am kind to myself, I am kind to all beings and works of matter. So here is what I thought of as I drank my caramel frappe from my favorite black owned coffee joint.
Stop What You’re Doing, Breathe & Think
I know it sounds pretty simple but hey that’s in this blog post’s title right? It’s so damn simple that I forget to do this. Some like to call this meditating, but meditating is more-so trying NOT to think and to focus on the breath. Some days I find it challenging to just let go and to breath. I look around at my environment and truly see where I am. Do I like where I am? Do I want to be here? Do I want to be here tomorrow? Am I feeling stuck or nurtured? How can I change my situation to fit my needs? Hustle culture has a way of preventing us from remembering that we have the ability to leave a situation - even if it’s going to be hard. But you have to choose your hard. Being in a toxic relationship is hard. So is being broke and single. Choose your hard.
Read Something
Knowledge never fails. To me, reading is a form of meditation. My mind’s brain waves are slowing down and I am in a relaxed state. I am slowly taking in information without loud noises or imagery. It is simple imagery created in my own head. Original. Maybe I will dream about the imagery later. I will bring up the new topic to a friend to discuss over lunch. You really cannot go wrong when you pick up a book and dive in.
Add More Color To Your Diet
We hear so much about getting our macros and protein in but what about those micronutrients? That’s where your colorful fruits and veggies come in and they literally help you raise your frequency. Every morning my family shoots to drink a fruit smoothie with peanut butter. When I start my day strong and keep my plate looking like a rainbow I feel my best. And look I slack too! Do you know how many Burger King french fries I ate last week? I went bezerk and my vibration lowered - I literally FELT it lower. My 3rd eye was still open but I was taken to dimensions that I was not ready to experience. This is why it’s so important to watch what you’re eating because it can affect you on a spiritual level. I also like to add chicken or salmon to my lunch/dinner and eggs/ground turkey for breakfast to get sufficient protein. And the best part - fruits and veggies are pretty cheap!!!
Exercise in Nature
Exercising as we know does wonders for our minds and bodies. But have you ever broken a sweat surrounding by trees or flowing streams of water? I
should have made this tip #1 on my list because it’s my favorite. This one activity helped me conquer postpartum depression and grow a deeper connection to my Creator. Feeling the Earth’s pulse come in sync with yours as you move your temple - your body - creates a high frequency that is almost addicting.Pray or Express Gratitude
Expressing thankfulness even in the darkest of times makes the heart lighter. And listen, I am not one of those toxic positivity “just be happy” bitches because trust me I cannot stand people like that. If you feel a moment in your HEART to find gratitude for something, anything, I encourage you to express it. It’s so hard to do in moments of pain trust me I know. Your soul will feel your love for your life. You know it’s there deep down inside. If you are religious or spiritual, we call this prayer. I pray when I have no where else to go and no one to turn to. I always know my Creator is there with a plan that has already been finalized and I am waiting for the results.
